im away to alston for the weekend

does anyone know what you have to do to fish it

plenty of little wild brownies, and although its might be a bit early yet, there has been plenty of water through so the odd sea trout is a possibility. The fishing is similar to the upper wear here in royston vasey, so dry terrestrials do well in the evening, hoppers can be deadly on there day but, anything black gnat like usually works. depending on where you fish, you might get away with it (I\'ve never bouight a ticket yet!) If you want some mad wild brownie fun , get yersel down to cow green, only 15 to 20mins from alston, fish the far end from the dam, anything black works well, tons of brownies 12oz to a pound that fight like demons and take like a freight train! fished there last week, 2 hours and nearly 30 fish, best justover a pound. its canny hike from the car park but well worth it. For what its worth regarding the \'honesty box\' in the lodge. I\'ve never seen a baliff there in 10 years, but that could be the kiss of death having just said that!

Thought for the day:
Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything but bring a smile to your face when thrown down the stairs
