Get someone to hold the butt right at the bottom and you hold the rod at the tip then swing the rod like a skipping rope. For a few seconds. I had to do it when I TT got stuck. It sounds ridiculous but it works.
    All the gear, no idea.

I'm sure it was you who told me about it tony. I had to do it again since as well. Got the spigot rebuilt after the 2nd time though.

You need to expand the butt section part of the spigot, make sure the tip section doesn't get warm or the two parts will expand together, possibly try a hairdryer.

Yep had to use hair dryer on 3cld just quickly warm evenly the outside before the heat gets time to get to spigot used in conjunction with the skipping rope technique if necessary.
            Hope you get it sorted.

Both sections a good clean with soapy water and a bottle brush for the butt let it dry then a coat of ptfe spray

It never sticks. What happened was the reel was stuck in the seat so I held the reel and banged the butt on my boot a couple of times but that ended up forcing the tip further down the spigot joint and ended up too tight to move by hand.
