  • how many is too many

been doing some cleaning and oiling today of my reels and it got me wondering

"how many is too many ?"

these are just the ones i use most of the time , have more in boxes i have not used yet and about the same again of fixed spool reels if not more

its beginning to worry me , i dont think i have enough to cover my needs , i neeeeeeeed more , there are colours i dont have yet! , and sizes i dont have yet , do i need them with and without level winders ?, should i have them in sets with different bearings in for different times and wind directions ? and dont even get me started on fibre blocks V plastic ones

should i stay off the chrimbo port as it has me twitching a bit and theres no christmas sweet mince pies left now , the ovens on and if our lass is not back soon i think the chrimbo savoury platter from asda is going to bite the dust

maybe i should go back to collecting pins !!? better than those new fangled stamps i should say

have a happy christmas and a merry new year folks , tight lines

    baz

stores i have been wondering how do you cast with a reel of that type ? they don't look like the ones that pivot 90 degrees to let line out

Nice collection, is the multi @ bottom left an abu GS. with graphite sides and mag brakes? i used to have one, but with a levelwind, i used it for lure fishing for pike. great reels if thats what it is?
It's a thin line that seperates an Angler from a madman standing on the beach in january at midnight in -5 degrees with a northerly wind blowing in your face

you know you have too many when the wife
say's "will you stop spending money on reel's"
                      and puts her foot down
                      but thats a nice lot.

Started fishing with me dads old greenheart rod and scarboro reel - used to backcast with it - tis very important to shift yer fingers soon as you let go cos the handles do some damage if ya dont lol

I've got some photos on photobucket - I'll see if I can find them, and no you're right, the reel doesn't swivel
