  • AUCTION ??

Some of you will remember that we held a very successful charity auction on the Board a few years ago.

I was thinkin\' of starting something similar, with the proceeds going to the RNLI.

However, on this current incarnation of the NESA site, there ain\'t an \"auction\" facility....so, I\'d need to do it manually....not sure of the logistics, but.... this is what I was thinkin\'.....

    1. If you have anything you\'d like to donate to the auction, either e-mail or PM me the details. NOTE: It must be something which you are happy to have ALL the money raised from its sale, go to the RNLI. ( you could even e-mail me a photo of the item aswell ).

    2. Once I have, say 10 items, I\'ll post the items as a list in a new \"RNLI AUCTION\" forum.

    3. To bid for an item, you must e-mail or PM me with your bid amount. Upon receipt of a bid, I\'ll post the amount as an update on the bidding for that item, along with the name of the bidder.

    4. The auction will run for a specified period (e.g.1 month). At midnight on the last day, the highest bid for each item will stand and bidding will close.

    5. I will contact the successful bidders and inform them of where they need to send their cheques / Postal Orders, (made payable to NESA), to.

    6. Once payment has been received, I\'ll contact the person who donated the item, confirming receipt of payment.

    7. Arrangements for collection / delivery / postage MUST be made between the donor and the buyer.

Who knows....if this gets off the ground and is a success, we may have more. I don\'t wanna be swamped with donated items, I think 10 max at first (may not even get 10, I dunno). If this proves to be popular, then we could have a similar thing every couple of months, or so.

I\'m NOT asking for items to be donated just yet...just testing the water, so to speak

    Thought for the day:
Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything but bring a smile to your face when thrown down the stairs

Converting an MFV Fifie trawler type thing.
