i've fished the south side on cambois beach a few times, heard of big bass and cod from there but only managed biggish flatties and smaller round fish, a friend had a bass at 2lbs last winter at low tide, it went back so its waiting to get caught again!

fished the north side of the river where there's a large tidal area a while ago for flats with light gear, was good, i tried to drive down there not so long ago but couldn't find my way, can i have directions please coz i fancy fishing the north side of the beach

Turn off spine road towards cambois, down past old power station site.Turn left at tee junction ,follow road all the way down to the bay.Lots of good parking places above beach.

I fish the estuary for flatties regularly, nice mark. Done the beach a couple of times and again had some canny flatties but nothing else there yet. Gets a lot of mention for bass as already noted. One thing to watch there is the current, it's really strong in that area.

Is there anyway of getting to the old carpark and slipway on the north side by road now? You used to be able to access off the spine road but can't anymore...
