Hi Lads
It's interesting about the lack of cod in the north east this year. The Kent coast is fishing it's best in 20 years with lots and lots of codling between 2lb and 4lb with the odd better one to 8lb. Average session we are getting 3 or 4 codling and in one 12 hour session i had 16 codling, 5 over 4lb. The quotas on commercial boats is working down here. The commercial lads are targeting sole/bass once they have hit quota and they don't have to kill many codling in the bye catch. Also, not too many inshore nets. I'm off down to dungeness this evening, I'll tell the fish to swim north in time for christmas when im coming home for a few days (I still call Newcastle home, even after living in London for over 20 years). Some of you lads who fly fish will know me from Bewl water (Simon).
Tight lines and Merry Christmas.
