i was sorting my box out last night and got to thinking ,way back in 197? i remember my first outing with a 99p handline followed later by a woolworths kit,now ive only been fishing again for a few month but i recall loading up rod, reel ,hooks ,weights,a few odds and sods, little did i know lol ,im stood there with no line to make the rigs up and no clue how to do em etc ,now after reading posts on nesa and talking to lads out and about im fully set ,rigs made up wound onto card, spare reel just in case, nail clippers extra lighter cos mine always gets wet and so on,but whats considerd essential ,with technogy leaping and bounding where do you stop,me i like to fish simple ,half the time i forget me sarnies, tackle shops to me are like sweet shops you could spend a lifetime in there buying bits and bobs but do you need em ??
    cheers Bri

change bags from the bank, better than a lot of tangle bits of card when hooks come loose of one card in infiltrate the rest, or a rig wallet

Back to Marks post. I always carry most of the things he mentions. The thing that has been the most help would be the roll of insulating tape. Always take one on holiday too. Next would ALWAYS be two head lamps just in case one breaks. How do you get off a rock mark with no light. Or fish Shields pier when you have left your torch at home lol.

I\'m always asked if I\'m moving house if I\'m fishing a pier. If it\'s a rucksack for rock fishing, then I\'m amazed by how little I actually need.
Tea towels are useful but I\'ve always got some bog roll. Just in case Eartha Kitt or her great mate, Barry White come along.
