Skeer behind latimers

hi guys , want to get out this week for a session some where new . Never fished a skeer before and was wondering if this one is a good place to start for a day time low tide session . Anyone got any advice ? Think i know all the safety advice and dangers , hence a day time trip with not much of a lump on . Cheers for any help , james

Can't help with that specific mark but in terms of safety, best thing to do is what you say, get to know the mark in the light so you can see the way on and off, know where the slippy bits are, gauge the tide etc., watch out of the sea is rolling in big.

I fished the Beacons for the first time recently and did just that as I fish by mesel most of the time - got on close to low tide and then fished it up a few times in the day in different sea conditions. So now comfortable fishing around there at night.

Nee point risking life and limb for a fish so as with most things be careful, plan your trip and take no daft risks and you'll be fine.

And get a good pair of studded boots or waders.

Water pretty shallow,heavy ground,i personally wouldn't bother in daylight and flat seas. If its the massive skeer your talking about its called the steel,don't think tides are big enough this week to get any sort of fishing time on there. Also watch the tide there it floods very quickly.

You will get just as many fish from the beach casting into the gulley that runs along side it.
Medium to small tide,3 down 3 up with a South Easterly sea running being the best time.
