greys jupiter had one myself two in fact the latter second hand .
had a few casts with it reel up doing about 190 yds put reel on bottom after a while came round pendulum casting rod compressed a bit more the butt crumbled between my hands wierd feeling as i said though rod was second hand but looked ok.

although it broke i still have a soft spot for these rods long tip lightwieght believe somebody up here has cast one 295yds before with a bit cut off tip.
did you know panel pins comes in diff sizes ?

Hard for me to narrow it down to just one - my choices would be something like:

                - also my ORIGIONAL apollo is an excellent all rounder
My two favourite "riving-on" rods that I'll use when the going gets serious 14ft Mk1 Apollo or the Eliminator; heavy kelp & the like.

For clean beaches to mixed ground - AFAW Tourney Match - never had a rod like it for a combination of power & sensitivity. A joy to use when you're constantly banging out baits a long way every 10 minutes and a long session with either of the above rods would have you sweating bullets.

Most frequently used & best all rounder - Sonik SK4 14ft. The one I fish most club matches and the like with, when I'm never too sure where I'm going to end up and want the best combination of the first two choices.

Hoping my new favourite will be my slightly tweaked & specially built Komp SS (when I finally get round to ordering it - hopefully next week!). Decided to spend the money & get something made just how I want it.

Exactly the same here Gary. The Sonik is a better fishing rod than the Komp SS,amazin piece of kit imo.

its a strange choice for me but my zziplex primo match rod, it is not exactly a stiff rod but if i was to pick a rod that caught my best fish i would have to say this one,

                    this summer alone its handled
                    thornbacks to 13lb
                    tope to 28lb
                    40 odd smuts to 10lb+

Its not supposed to be catching things like that but i cant resist getting it out of the bag no matter what im fishing for as long as its a clean to mixed bottom in front of me.

i have the m4 evo and m4 hiflex, both great rods but the primo match just makes fishing that little bit more fun as it gives the fish more than a fighting chance and boy you really know they are there with this one

                    quag

I've still got my old Zziplex pro-am match. Its a lovely fishing rod, bit lightweight for fishing up here, but it handled the biggest cod I've hooked to date (15lb+) with no bother at all. Same couldn't be said for the trace when I came to land it though

Conoflex Super Flicktip, should be hosed down with diarrhea for flogging it.

WR 300, and my grandads cane beach rod, i pair it with a 1960s Mitchel 489. the intrepid it came with was stolen so he got the Mitchel still works perfectly.

Mine has to be an old century tip tornado tourmament, red in colour, this rod handled everything & casted for fun, now using my 14ft apollo mk with reducer, that also is very high on my list !
