  • Seabait

Does anyone use Seabaits worms and if so are they as good as 'wild' ones. With the shortage of worms at the moment I've been looking at Seabaits website. They charge £3 for 75g but £12.34 for delivery . I sent them an email on Friday asking if you can collect from Ashington but they've yet to respond. When they do I'll let you know.

I reckon you can still get it cos I bought some decent Seabait Ragworm at a wee tackle/bait shop in Berwick-upon-Tweed at the end of the summer - they were ok. Frasers Whitley and Billy's Shields usually, like - usually v good too.

The company was taken over and they have now put a massive factory shell round the breeding tanks so every thing is done indoors. Never tried the bait since it was taken over but they must be doin something right to afford all the alterations they have made to the old place.

I am thinking of poping down to Seabait this week to see if they still sell to the puplic like the old bait farm did, as the Rag i have been geting from Ashington Tackle Shop lately is proper RUBBISH. I will lets yous know.

They still haven't answered my email so if you find out anything that would be great.

                        No difference

I've used the seabait rag a few times over the years and it fished exactly the same as the "wild" bait, I caught nothing with either.

Try the tackle shop in Morpeth, not that far away from you. We sell rag from Dragon Baits in Wales, superb quality. Same supplier as Billys use

theres nothing wrong with sea bait its how the shop keeps it that matters . reelsport keeps his in fresh seawater and his worm is second to none.

Hadn't realised Dragon Baits is based in Port Talbot, weird thing is I couldn't find anywhere down there that sold bait each time we've been there - only tackle place I could find was a market stall.
