  • floating your baits

Looking for ideas so I can sit my bait either on top of the Kelp or to float above it, I know the fish will still find it but it might take alot longer,
Lots of old hands on here how did you do it and was it worth while.

Ive heard Pop up boilies for carp may work
    appreciate any suggestions

h i mick you can buy bait floats that can float your bait or put on a small float and make the bait semi bouyant they sell for £1.00 a pkt for 4 floats, they are ideal for keeping your bait away from crabs if they are eating all your bait aswel

forgot to say bait floats are inline floats and just slide onto your line above the bait and you can adjust them with a stop knot

Thanks Billy, does anyone use them much or is it just something else to get snagged.

I use them for pike fishing and the odd time i am fishing in the river they help your line to lift so less chance of them getting snagged, if you have one on your hook snood it keeps it away from snaggs and up floating about in the kelp

another method you can use instead of popping up the actual bait is to use a sunken float paternoster where the float is on your main line above the trace, can lead to better presentation.
