    just been watching fishing on sky they were fishing for cod in norway biggest one they caught was 38 lb the skipper of the boat has had them over 100 lb
    as the man said there is plenty small ones about 10 lb
    would love to do that
    fishing is great catching is a bonus

      Aye. av always wanted to do that, was talking with a lad on ss pier a few weeks ago who goes over every year and he says it's fantastic like.. massive cod city, and massive wolf fish even from the shore.

        It is something I would have loved to have a go at too Andy. Getting a really big fish like that would show us what a fight is all about, more so if it was one of those massive Coley's from there on lightish gear

        A few members were talking about going a couple of years ago but it is difficult to organise, especially if one or two were to start dropping out.

              I have seen quite a few pictures of the Wolf fish, if they fight as hard as they look they should be great fun too lol.

                just looked up the wolf fish //


                The wolf fish is easy to recognize. It has a long dorsal fin from its neck and backwards. The jaws are powerful with several rows of thick teeth. Its mouth is fit for crushing things and its favorite food is sea urchin. It can easily crush a human hand, so be careful handling the catch. The wolf fish is also feeding on crabs,up

                    Seen one caught at amble of the boat a few year back. Ugly thing but lovely to eat due to there diet.

                          looked into going over for a few days but its a bit of a pain now they've stopped the ferries from newcastle. would love to try the shore fishing

                            Think the ferries are still going,see them often on the AIS map,but due to stop in the future.
