  • Tornado's tested

well since Stan the man build them i took them to beach today to test them not fishing just tossing a lead out using the slosh 30 and surf 60.
well to my surprise took a bit of getting used too the slosh 30 the bulky thing on my tornado sport but after 30 mins got the hang of it and boy did i get it flying out nearly emptied the slosh and fixed spool did empty.
the ultra lite never used one before so took it easy just flicking it out then put the fixed spool on and 3 oz lead and a few chucks later boom out it went just as far with a 3 oz then my sport using 5 oz.
over all thoughts:- stan is the man / well happy / bring on the cod and summer days for ultra
still need a pair of Penn 525's for them though

    cheers
    mike

Try a 515 on the ultra lite mate, I think the 525 is a bit heavy for it. Give em both a go if you can get your hands on one. Lovely rods, loved the colours stan built them in too.... Many happy hours to be had

i find my 525s are too big for my tip tornados and just dont feel right. they feel a lot more balanced with my 6500s. but i dont use them over heavier ground.

Told you it would fly tbh mick if you have not tried it with a bigger weight a 4oz is no bother either and I found a 4oz to be optimal casting weight for the ultra and I would not be scared to go further with it either

          i absolutely agree...

you'll find that the ultralight barely knows theres a 3oz weight on but put a 4oz on and it feels perfect.
