for fishing realy these reels this is there main purpose not a distance reel if you no what i mean.
but a one which i magged up myself many moons ago i did cast it 225yards and that was on a field with wind on my back and lead only with 15lb mono and shockleader.
got to agree wth chukka all you need is brake blocks for fishing i use a sha30 for fishing now fitted wth brake blocks suited to my line level etc.
the reel i made parts for and fitted the mag myself was the blackspool older type slosh 30 reel not the newer type sha30 reels.
now i have read and seen on blackdog tackle website you put a metal disc on side of spool for mags to work.when i did mine i fitted no metal disc could,nt see any reason to do so and reel worked perfectly.
