right lads info needed thinking of getting a zziplex txl or txl gt for the rough ground what do you think about each rod bit worried about glass tip or do I go for a 427 or 427su ?/

I gather you mean the zeteque txl gt. Dont be worried by the glass tip at all, they are nothing like the glass tips of old, i.e floppy. It's a nice tip which shows bites and doesn't trip your lead out in heavy seas etc whilst still being a lot of rod.

I use both side by side (SU and TXL gt) I prefer the SU in rough weather as the stiff tip doesn't get manipulated by rollers and weeds as easily as the TXL gt. The TXL gt has better bite detection and more power though. But if forced Id opt for the SU for winter fishing over rough ground in big seas

The std txl is extremely powerful, too much rod for just about anyone. But if you like that sort of thing its the stiffest of the lot. The gt version is a great all round rod. I had one and used it everywhere. One of the best casting rods for big 7-8oz leads and bait. The Butts have so much power. For a pleasant rough ground rod the std 427 is probably enough and if you use 6 oz leads probably the easiest to use. Had a few and rate them very highly. Had a couple of su's and didn't really rate them as they were heavier and lacked the feel of the std rods and not as nice an action. The std 427 is more progressive and the more you put into them the more they give back.
