Lad next to me on the end of blyth pier today was using one and he said he liked it..
It's a thin line that seperates an Angler from a madman standing on the beach in january at midnight in -5 degrees with a northerly wind blowing in your face

Took mine (the 14ft 5-7 model) down to Blyth Pier yesterday late afternoon / evening - having been a bit under the weather for a few days it'd been languishing in the corner long enough! In pretty foul conditions managed to get a few whitings up to about a pound, and one solitary codling about 2lbs. Reading the catch reports it looks like I should have headed down the other end of the beach - it did look good but I couldn't be bothered to go home for my waders!

As for the rod, it's an absolute belter! Love it - seeing small bites in all that wind was no problem & it punched a couple of baits straight into it no problem.

Packed in around 10 as bites had dried up around 9, and had at least managed to get a few fish to "break-in" the new rod. Deffo give Sonik 10 out of 10 for this one.

One thing I'm not entirely clear on is what the difference is between the SK3 and SK4 rods. Is it just a hardware upgrade on the fittings or are they completely different blanks too?

They're different blanks too. Had a good look at both of the 14 footers and opted for the SK4 - its beefier than the SK3 & has the Fuji rings.
