Hi everyone been reading the forum for a while now and decided to join.come back to sea fishing after 20 years away and loving every minute of it.caught first ever codling in november last year from blyth harbour since then things have been pretty slim.going out tuesday from 6am and looking for advice on where to go, is it still worth fishing sandy bay cliffs? Used to fish there as a kid and it was alright.
Love the crack on the forum so any advice from you guys would be much appreciated cheers mal

Hi Mal and welcome to NESA. Not sure how things are at Sandy bay but the Whitley Bay area is doing very well at the minute.

        Alreet Mal....
I've had bass to 2lb. off the beach in front of the ramp. but never tried the cliffs.
It's a thin line that seperates an Angler from a madman standing on the beach in january at midnight in -5 degrees with a northerly wind blowing in your face

Welcome mate. You could try Blyth Pier (the old creaky wooden one). Some decent fish are caught from there.

I'd say you can come with me some time but all i can realy show you is how to blank. Whitley Bay beach is fishing well at the moment. If there is a good sea on fish it 2hrs either side of low water at night and you will have a good chance of some decent bags of fish. I have fished it when it's flat calm and still had some fish out but the big seas are better.

yeah the south beach mate (seaton sluice to blyth) try and fish to the left or right of the toilets always good fish being caught from that area.

also like the others have said whitley bay beach is fishing very well at the moment right behind the cafe or any little skeer really
