  • AFAW Jacket/Trousers

Anyone got or had them and whats the opinion.

Looking for a new set of waterproofs as the floaty jacket is being resigned to the cupboard this year unless its absolutely freezing. Found it a bit cumbersome last year and it ended up a ton weight when wet, whilst I never actually ended up wet it must have been soaking in a bit water when it was raining. Wanting something lighter (weight wise) and with more freedom of movement.

Any opinions on any other makes of clothing also appreciated.

I was stood on Whitley beach last night with rain, snow and hail lashing down on me for 6hrs and i was very dry and warm with my greys fleece under my greys waterproof jacket Can't fault this set up mate. No restriction on movement and don't weigh a ton.

I recently bought one of the Daiwa smock jackets - so far I can say it's warm, comfy & doesn't restrict movement at all. I'm still waiting to get caught in a downpour to test it's waterproofness (?) but I've heard they're supposed to be very good.

I also swear by my Greys GRXi wading jacket - very good over the chesties as it's nice & short so you don't get lower pockets filling up with water when wading out. The only downside is the price - you could get 2 or 3 other jackets for the same money.
