Anyone no who is selling the frozen blocks of mini squid?
Latermers at whitburn had it and is trying to get a supply but he said it mite be to or three weeks.(that's if he can get it).
Thanks
cheers lads Ill Ring them tomorrow.
Lowrider.Try some u will not be disappointed no cutting or messing about.just the rite size too tip off your worm baits.
Might be me being stupid but why not just cut now the larger version
I find the smaller squid much better also, finding it hard to get them in seaham now, i like to put 3-4 of them on a hook all whipped up, with tentacles and such hanging out, all seems to do better for me than the larger squid chopped down.
If you can't get the small ones, Ii always use the 4-5 inch tubes cut straight down the middle and bind them around lug worm. This way you still have a squid looking bait with the tentickle and all with the smell of the worm and if your having to cast any distance this preserves your worm really well
Just been to get some fresh bait for tonight from Flash tackle in Seaton Deleval and they have these squid in.
I bought some so will let you know what they fish like.
Funny you should run a thread on these mini squid. I bought some from AMH angling at Annfield Plain a few weeks ago for a boat trip. I was gutted as they had no big Calamari.
With most of the block left over i took it shore fishing a week or so later and was very impressed with the stuff. After defrosting again it had gone tougher. And it also hooked up much better than the big stuff. Couple of these put on with bait elastic and worm looked the bizz.
I now prefer the smaller squid.
Last block i bought was from the Friarage at Hartlepool. Still got most of it left.
Mick.
Managed to get a couple ov blocks from ryhope today. They call them Chinese party squid so no doubt you can get them at Chinese supermarket. read they come in three sizes.tiny, small and not so small
cheers again
