Hendon prom even
Aye I've fished it a couple of times, best fished hour or two up and hour or two down. most of the lads head straight for the end what's generally referred to as 'The Falls' near where the ramp goes down onto beach. been a few canny fish pulled in along there.
1st, 2nd and 3rd bays are also a worth while shot at times I keep being told this anywhere has the possibility of producing really. just watch yourself down there a couple of lives lost down there recently. just don't take any daft risks.
I'm hardly an expert on the venue, I've just fished it a couple of times.

the 1st 2nd and 3rd bays are a canny spot but the 1st bay is rocky and you can loose gear.

sunderland or the borough?
if sunderland this is bay 1
this is 2 and 3
these taken last year this time , last time i was there at low water (night one of our members was almost washed off a few weeks ago , there was much more rock exposed in 2 and 3
even the clearer bays were showing a lot of rock where its normally just sand
places to aim for are the kelp visible below low water mark ,some nice codling from there at timesLast edited by bazw; 27-10-2008, 07:09 PM.--------------------------------------------------------------

yep thats "all the fun of the prom "
last winter i cast out , popped my rod in the rest and climbed into the back of my van to make coffee , wave came over and i had 7 or 8 seconds of water falling on the van , this was the south end and i was parked away from wall at back side , if i was at north bays and been outside i would have been gone--------------------------------------------------------------

if i fish any of the bays upto the banstand and its too bad i will fish up onto the carpark bit with the stand atleast you have time to get out the way if a wave comes up but on the bottom part the wave will carry you along the prom beware where ever you fish along there on a big seaPanel Pin Champ

a quiet day at hendon yesterday
just an idea of what can happen , just south of the bandstand just before high water , with a northerly it can be soooooooooo much worse that it is really dangerous
waves were braking against the back wall behind my rod stand in the pic but in
front / on the front of my van after coming over the ramp on the bandstand
+ not a fish to be seen
ps wonkey stanchion seen in first pic is the "first of the many" plastic stanchions that i think will break over the winter and they are about 4 feet high so hendon is no longer wheel chair friendly for sureLast edited by bazw; 29-10-2008, 01:53 PM.--------------------------------------------------------------

well decided to try the prom till dark last bay ,got a good soaking water splashing ower ,so moved along a hundred yards to next bay first cast resulted in another good soaking pmsl , bloke 30 yards from me towards last bay had about 5-6 fish out nowt big pund and halfers and a eel ,on me last cast i pulled me gear in to feel some weight on it i says or aye a none biter ,it seemed that i hooked a snapped hook snood and there was a coalie on it lol, anyway roker pier was terrible had nowt and seen nowt caught ,so that lucky coalie saved me day even though i didnt hook the bugger
fished prom 3pm till 5pm- roker 5.30pm till 8.30pmLast edited by codseeker; 29-10-2008, 10:58 PM.Panel Pin Champ
