I know this is a sore subject for some but can anyone tell me if they are still being caught at shields as I've left it late for getting some for my trip to skye and had planned to go tomorrow if it's worthwhile. Thanks

Fished the small wall this afternoon. Nothing till an hour and a half before top then loads of coalies loads of sandeel and a solitary macky. Water just clearing up now was dirty the last couple of days as there was a good swell on monday. Got a feeling with the big tides and the water clearing theres a real chance of numbers of macky returning the next few days.
Back down tomorrow for the sandeel and hopefully a few macky. Cant beat freezing your own baits down.
Old bloke fishing next to me had a lovely 4lb pollock on bait down the side. Went down the steps and landed for him. Nice to see him return it too.
