Just secured myself a new strikeout mould (whatever that is haha) on Ebay for £12 or so. What's the crack with the wires? How do you bend them into shape??? Can see a pack of stainless TIG welding wires going missing from the stores at work here.

i have a gemini mould for them and i bend the end of 2 ,then when there are in place and the lead is cooling i pull them out , remove from mould and trim off plug then when cooled i have to put the wires back in and bend them round the point
dont know if its the right way but it works for me

Everything's now in place, except for the lead and the method of melting said lead down. D'Oh!!!

Just wondering what other people use for melting the lead? Do you reckon that those single burner camping stoves that run on the camping gas will produce enough heat?? Like the one below.

I use a cast iron gas ring connected to a propane bottle.

Have a look at ebay Item number: 260305840641

I picked mine up at a car boor fair for a few quid.

I melt the lead in a old cast iron pan (car boot as well) and use a ladle to pour.

I don't know where you live mate but i have a two burner camping stove that connects to the blue or red gas bottles.
It is the type with fold up legs so easy to store.
You are welcome to it as i was given it for free,i live in Blyth

Is there such a thing as a bulk alternative to buying packs of grip wires?

I'm knocking out leads by the dozen but am loathed to pay £5 for 100 6inch bits of wire, I'd rather buy a decent size coil of the stuff and cut to length myself.
I thought I'd sourced some but turns out it's no better than galvanised garden wire

Top wires (eyes) I don't have a problem sourcing decent wire for, it's the main gripper wires I'm trying to buy in bulk.
