  • Fixed spool distance rod?

I'm looking at dipping into the market for a new beach rod (fixed spool) for cleanish ground but distance required and will have to cope with heavyish leads (up to 190 gram) due to strong tide run. I still tend to use fixed spool as most of my fishing is at night and a lot of the time in cold wet conditions and it keeps me casting with confidence.
I'm looking at the Greyflex-s Fixed spool. Anyone used this rod or has any recommendations from the fixed spool world?

Although not a fixed spool rod in the true sense of the word, it's more of a hybrid and works just as well with multipliers the Century Carbon Metal Blackbird is one of the finest rods I have ever used.
If you're fishing clean ground drop your line down to 10lb BS on your fixed spool and you'll be delighted with the performance of this superb rod.

If you fancy a longer rod and are gonna be using braid on a fixed spool, have a look at the Greys Triplex 16ft. Its an ok rod for the money.
