Does anyone know how many hooks you can use and if there are any other rules about what you can and can't use on your rigs?
Infact does anyone know if the rules are on the internet any where as i can't find them anywhere?
Cheers,
Geoff

According to the booklet I got with my ticket:
Rule 7 - Each competitor will be allowed to use one rod at any one time with not more than two hooks, but may have a spare rod assembled without any terminal tackle. Spare pre-baited traces are allowed.
It makes no mention of beads or artificial lures etc. so I presume you could spin for pollack or whatever. Don't know if all the rules are on the net, but most tackle shops should have the booklets along with tickets that you could browse through.
Many thanks g-force, I want to pre buy my ticket but I am struggling to get into a shop during the day due to work, and want to make some rigs ready for the weekend.
Thanks again,
Geoff

Not sure on this comp but in the majority of the opens you cannot use lures and can only have 1 single bead of no more than 5mm used as a bait stop per hook snood.
That is one of the best things about opens and other comps Geoff, it takes you out of your usual places and makes you concentrate a bit more I think. I used to really enjoy trying new marks.

Remember, some people are alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them.
prize table will be as good if not better than last year if thats possible.
last years was probably the best on offer for some time, most anglers got a prize.
hope everyone has a great day and collects one of the many fantastic prizes on offer.
who knows maybee the lucky angler will bag the cash prizes and be a member of this site, good luck everyone.
please remember the weigh masters decision is final.the club will have no say in any matter arising from that decision.with 30 yrs experience we have 100% trust in him.please make sure the fish are clean and measured before they are weighed.this will help speed up the weigh inn period.
Few of us are fishing it again...slab of Beer (Phil) and a fishing rod (me) in the raffle last year (Greg?)...none of us caught owt of note for the weigh in so the raffle was a bonus it's worth going back to the Club House even if you catch nowt...and the banter and craic is always good too - even in my limited experience
Ooh a new vid!
