Zziplex have got have the worst customer service in the country, but what do I know,

yes he has a long wait at times as he has a lot of custom orders to make other times they can be there very fast, he will make any rod that you ask him if it's not what you wanted then that's down to the specifications the person give him. But un like any other manufacturer out there he still gives a warranty with custom built blanks, do century? No do afaw? No do grays? No the list goes on.
Like I said what do I know about Zziplex!
If people think you are an idiot, why speak and remove all doubt !

No I am telling the truth sometimes you wait sometimes you don't, and your claim for the worst customer service in Britain I pathetic, I am simply stating that zziplex rods come with a real warrenty not one that has a load of clauses.

getting back on track here--anyone used the Century Kompressor S with fixed spool and braid for heavy ground.not mono so don't need to know if its not stiff enough with mono.dont want a ss as to stiff for me.
at 13ft 10 this is the size im looking for.one lad on here has recommended the komp s for this style of fishing.
anyone used one with braid can let me know what they think of it

Just for the record Pig Hunter, i have dealt with Terry for over 26 years now.
Many moons ago back in the docwra days i used to build Terry's rods which were to go to the magazines for review, back then i would agree with you however these days its just not the case.
I could give you more reasons but would bore you and it would mean hijacking this thread and that was and is not my intention.

regarding kompressor s would be very good wth braid and f spool imo but some not me would say the rod is too soft for heavy ground but i would disagree.
did you know panel pins comes in diff sizes ?

A slightly softer rod is good with braid but what im finding is that some of the softer rods are slow or over recover causing crackoffs even with a braid leader. Depends how hard your hitting the rod i suppose.

Its finding something to suit your casting weights and casting ability thats important. If only you could find a superfast recovering yet flexible rod! Some of the zziplex and century rods are way too slow. I had a Colmic continental rod that was lightening fast but not really a tool for 7 oz and bait.. I guess you need very deep pockets and the highest grade carbons to find the ideal tool.

stiff rod mono leaders/soft rods braid leaders

but as most know by now braid leaders cures crackoffs

disadvantages wth stiff rods and braid leaders especialy wth people using heavy leads to tow there bait out is you need arms like popeye.

plus retriev on f/spool and braid and stiff rod you are more likely to pull a lightly hooked hook out of fishes mouth when reeling in.

been a while since i have fished heavy ground m8 ,but when i did i didnt use the very stiff rods of today ,

but i did use rotten bottoms panel pins,i can remember fishing a heavy mark one day using a conoflex super flick tip getting fast nearly everycast wth fish on i just used to snap leads off wth rotten bottom and the fish came in no prob and lost fvery few fish if any.

most people will say you have to use stiff rods for heavy ground i dont realy want you based on my opions to buy this that or the other have a good think .

braid fishing can be very costly i know from experiance and lighter pocket have a think.

I agree with you about a softer rod for braid but mono you need a stiffer rod especially in rocky ground, if the rod has not got the umph to pull that fish to the surface on a lot of marks your not getting the fish in, kelp you can drag them in at times with a softer rod but not rock.
