I remember a year or so back i was fishing on the north pier at Seaham on the drum, i heard a boat coming out so i walked around the lighthouse to let the boats occupants see me. once i was sure that he had seen me i sat back down , but to my horror the boat came belting out and ran straight into my line ripping the rod from the stand. i grabbed hold of it, luckily i had the drag set but as the boat pulled and i tried to pull back the drag let a lot of line out and i was left with a 6 inch gash in my hand.
Not a pleasant afternoon, i would of been gutted to lose my reelsport response, and even more gutted to lose my hand.

Nice one Micky, I wonder what the odds of anyone reeling them in would of been, never mind that person being honest enough to hand them in.
                Cheers, Keith.

Great result - there's loads of good lad and lasses out there still, young and old. Fantastic.

A tourist lost a wallet containing Ł800 at Cresswell I think, recently - went straight to the Polis and it had been handed in with nowt missing. Tourist person said he knew it was worth giving the cop shop a try as he trusted the good nature of us Northerners (he might have used the word ge**rdies actually )

Hope you get your gear back, always worth disengaging the gears on the reel and shoving the ratchet on if your reel is fitted with one !
