      I would say use 2 red blocks at first and then if you feel they are restricting your cast change to one red and one white. The order of braking is;

      2 red = maximum braking
      1 red 1 white
      2 white
      1 red
      1 white = minimum braking
      no blocks = no braking

      I find one red block works well with 20lb line filled to about 3mm below the lip of the spool.

      All you need to do is take the left side off (i.e. the side without the handle). There is nothing to fall out or lose in this side so you should be good. Gets a bit tricky when taking the right side off though, took me a while to get it back together
