Fishing Lessons For A Youngster

Hi, I hope you can help me.
My little boy who is almost 9 is interested in sea fishing and has been for some time. He tried lake fishing but likes the idea of catching and taking home the fish (as I love to eat it!). We are moving to Sunderland shortly and know the roker area quite well, I've bought him a sea fishing starter rod for his birthday and would love for him to have a few lessons or even an afternoon with someone who can show him the ropes. Do you know of any place I can go to get this help as I myself have no clue!
