I'll certainly not be there ..... I've been away from the place for six months now and it'll give me nightmares if I go back ,they'll have me conscripted if they see me .

          Show

Fluffchucker ... this show has nothing to do with the game angling show which is held at the Nissan Sports and Social Club. We don't want 'just tables' otherwise it would look like a church hall jumble sale. We are trying to
So the nissan show is 'like a church hall jumble sale?' Also, I personally know of a number of 'local' tackle shops (a lot closer than Sunderland and Hartlepool) that werent 'invited' to the 'show'

All I can say is that I am looking forward to seeing what all these £3 entry fees are paying for in the way of 'stands' because guessing by the number of entries the show is likely to attract, the thousands of pounds the show will take just on entries should make for an 'all singing, all dancing' show!

North East Sea Angling and Boat Show

Fluffchucker ... I have no intentions of getting into a "schoolboy debate" with you or anyone else regarding the show. I am just trying to do something for the North East SEA Anglers. If, as you say, there is going to be thousands of pounds taken on the door (at only £3 entry) - and I hope you are right, that will certainly help with the plans I have in mind for next year (God willing) to put on a show for Game, Coarse, Shore and Boat anglers. Obviously a much bigger venue will be required, which will cost a LOT more money, but after seeing the deterioration of "Go Fishing" at Birmingham, why shouldn't the North East have a show as good if not better than something that happens 200 miles away. You obviously have some thoughts about how an exhibition should be run and, if it is to happen for next year, I would need the help of people like yourself to bring it to fruition. The planning for it would have to be done almost immediately after October's show. If you wish to send me a PM with any ideas you have for a big show - and whether you would be willing to help - I would appreciate it.
Look forward to meeting you at the show.
            Tight lines
            Sam

Thanks Sam and well said . From what we spoke about earlier during the week regarding the show , it's a taste of what North East sea angling community would definately benefit from,it can only get bigger and better. some of the exibitions will be quite extra special and a real eye opener .A lot of time and effort has gone into the planning of this show, manufacturers, tacklle dealers ,clubs, boat angling etc, to see the latest tackle developments and various other inovations is something not to be missed.
              I,m sure it'll be a success

aye its nowt, but if you times it by say,1000 its a lot of money.£150 for a stall,30 paying stalls, erm its like i say a lot of money.
£450 per day to hire the hall,£900,so the first 6 stalls take care of that.
where's the rest of the money going?

Try going out for a pint for 3quid. Try going to the pictures for 3quid. try going fishing ( Sea, Course or Game ) for 3quid. It cant be done. At least with the Angling show you can get a day out and see what angling is all about and if it helps raise some money for future events or to plough back into angling then all the better. if a lot of people stopped bitching and put as much effort into helping then angling in the north east could be a lot better. Count me in if you need any help Sam.

                          Knonkers?!

I never complained about the £3 to walk into a sports hall full of stalls! And I was not knocking Sam's efforts to organise a show in the north east! I was just clarifying a few points that arose from what was said!

I was actually involved in a demonstration at the Go Fishing show a couple of years ago to do with competition fly fishing, casting and fly tying. It was a very well organised show with many thousands of people attending.

I can honestly say that I do hope it goes ahead as well as Sam hopes and just hope that the profits made do actually get ploughed into next years show. But as CODONLY says, there will be a nice profit made!

would you pay £3 to walk into your local tackle shop?
                            i think not

Sorry, but having followed this thread from the start - it does seem that there is an element of sour grapes for whatever reason

would you pay £3 to walk into your local tackle shop?
No - but then I also pay the same for Sea Angler and other publications and more than 50% of it's pages are riddled with adverts...

So what if there are traders there - the sellers are also usually very knowledgeable fishermen willing to impart help and advice...and the punters also get to buy stuff if they so chose - big deal
                              Ooh a new vid!
