  • Dynabait dehydrated bait

Has anybody tried this stuff, as I don't get out that often, was wondering if it would be worth having a few packs incase I can get out at short notice, or keep in reserve if I haven't bought enough etc..

I know I can freeze or salt left over bait, and keep that , but this sounds easier and tbh I don't tend to have spare bait left as I don't usually over buy

Ps, I did search for previous posts about this as not really wanting to create a discussion, just after people's honest feedback

Hi mate, I don’t know about this stuff although I have fished with an angler fairly recently during the winter who was using it and never got a bite. However, that might be an unfair comment as neither did I or anyone else that day!

Try this stuff from online baits "OILED LUG" - OILED fresh Blacks 6-8" (10 per pk)

That stuff keeps for months and it works, re-sealable packet too. Don’t even need to keep in in the fridge long as its not kept in hot conditions, so inside a bait box in the shed will do fine.
Excellent bait also, seems to stay on the hook very well and I have had a few good cod taken this year on it from the NE coast. Also took wrasse, doggies and a few pollock up at the Mull on it recently.

Just beware the postage charge, £7 I think...so you might want to order a few to make it worth while

You'd have more luck rolling up a £10 and tying that to your hook with elastic.

Far better off keeping some runnydown and bluey or mackerel in your freezer; I live 15 miles inland so it's a struggle to get fresh bait sometimes and these are great standbys that will definitely catch fish (unlike the gimmicky stuff designed to catch unwary anglers).

            Squid also.
As said above I would not knock frozen bait, although personally I like to use a bit fresh if I am using frozen.

If its an issue of not keeping bait in the freezer or not having the space too, I would give those oiled blacks a go I mentioned for sure. I think the website says it keeps for several months and there not wrong, stuff I have bought has been good for 3/4 months, started to loose quality after then.

Far better to have some frozen bait in your freezer, fresh is best but can't beat a back up stock of blks, mussle, razor, crab etc.Had plenty of good fish on cocktails of frozen blacks n crab, blk n razor etc.Imo them artifical baits r designed to catch the angler n the anglers wallet
