  • More litter problems

Walking down the Prom at Whitby last week and one of my dogs (on leads) picked up a baited rig some "angler" had left on the concrete. We thought we had got most of it off her but she must have swallowed something and now she is in for an operation with a blocked intestine. Whoever left that rig should hang their head in shame. There's bairns walking along there in bare feet too.

Will anyone be surprised when clowns like this get us thrown off our favorite marks.

Litter is a major problem at this time of year, I was spinning out the back of dunstunburgh castle last night and the place was a complete tip ! places of outstanding beauty being ruined by a!$£ holes who can't take rubbish home, took away what i could carry to put in the bin.

Apologies for sounding pedantic but way I see it anything dropped that shouldn't be is I imagine in anyone else' eyes is classed as litter, it becomes a litter problem in summer because of the increase in people who think they are fishermen. I hope your dog is ok magpies

Well I am afraid I can't agree mate, surely line and baited hooks would qualify as litter ? Anyway whatever its called its bad crack and gets us anglers a bad name. We all complain about marks which are closed to us for various reasons. I think we have to be very vigilant in these times.

Thanks for all the comments lads and good news, got the dog back from the vets today and looks like she is gonna be OK.

If that lads who were fishing Upgang prom last Wednesday night and left there baited rigs on the ground happen to be reading this. Feel free to contact me and I will gladly send on the vets bill.

Disagree, I think litter is a major problem full stop in all walks of life. Live not far from a take away and you'll see papers and cups thrown out of cars on their routes home (cycle past it all the time on the way to work).

I have probably missed things lying around when I've been fishing like anyone but always have a scour of my area before I leave, I don't want to lose expensive items. Have taken bags of other people's crap home in the past.

                            Hope the dog recovers
