  • Best "all round zippy" ???

I consider my TTS to be a perfect "all round rod" and will never part from it. Gonna buy a new 1 next year Infact.
Just wanting to know peoples opinion on ZippleX rods. I'm looking for an "all rounder" maybe something abit softer even, such as Century's TTLD ?????
I'm Green as Grass when it comes to Zippys!
    Cheers Fellas !
    STEVEO.

For a softer rod I would consider a primo synchro very capable rod but very user friendly. But if needs be can cast a 7pz plus bait. Again hsm Evo is a nice user friendly rod most zziplex rods are designed to fish at range so they are all capable just the "softer" zziplex rods tend to need a very good technique to get the best out of the rod.

That's why I like stiff rods there actually easier to use.

I'd say a great all rounder would be a dymic lt14

Stevo the TTLD is a cracking rod mate... You certainly wouldn't be disappointed if you bought one.... Puts 5oz plus a decent bait a long way in the right hands. 6oz can also be out a long way mate but I found it better with the 5. Not personally owned one bit had a few chucks with a mates. Don't know much about the zippies though....

What exactly do you want the rod to do? Allrounder is a bit vague.

I've got a TTLD and it is a surprisingly powerful rod. It is stiffer in the tip than my Primo Synchro, as said handles 5oz with ease full tilt pendulum (I put the 150g over the 200 yard line with mine) and will cast 175 plus bait if you are careful. Nice fishing rod and will handle mixed ground and the piers OK and is a lovely clean beach rod.

Primo Synchro is more of a "wind-up" rod, loves a big arc and is an absolute joy to cast and fish with. Not much use of the high piers though as the tip section is a bit "soft" for winching fish up the side. Was my favourite fishing rod until I got a GT tip to go with my M4 Evo butt.

A ZZiplex rod that will do anything you want on the NE coast would be the M4 Evo. Slim, lightweight but powerful, slightly overgunned for clean beaches, ideal for the piers and mixed ground and will hold it's own in rough ground as well. Very different rod to the TTLD mind, has been cast over 300 yards on the field but has plenty of feel and is not too unforgiving of a poor casting technique.

As said though, all depends on what you want the rod to do...

Haha I agree the Leeda is a great blank just poor quality build the match could be a nice rod but never tried it, only suggested zziplex as that's what Steve said he fancied it. I have no preference over rod makers as I use a wide range of them if yuki made good rods I would recommend them ☺️

Got to disagree with the m4 Evo mate found the tip to stiff and butt to soft. It has pretty poor bite detection and does not sit in tide or a rough sea very well tends to pull the lead out, very nice however with braid.
