    hello all new ....to here
    well i am sick of throwinng 6oz leads in to the sea with very little return
    so i have been and gotten a 8ft spinning rod and reel
    so looking for some advice on shore spinning

    Where you planning on fishing from?

    Any of the piers at this time of year will be showing mackerel, South Shields is showing nice Pollack...not heard too much from the Mackems so can't comment

    What kind of info you after?

      hi
      planning to fish on the rocks or beach
      the tackle i got is light so do not fancy pulling fish up the peir
      i just wanted a change
      only ever fished of the peirs on the tyne and blyth
      when is the best time to fish the tide
      thanks

        I'd get yourself a few float kits it you fancy a change mate, set it up with a small hook on the bottom and 1 rag worm, lob it close in to the sides or rocks for Wrasse or a bit futer out for Pollock and coaly. i find it much more productive than spinning.

            I've got to say that float fishing has to be my favourite as far as shore or pier fishing goes ,what a buzz when that float goes under .
            You can take the lad out of Walker but .......

                as for places to fish any rock really, we were floating at Dunstinbrough castle last weekend (see catch reports), Beadnell is canny, never tried yet myself but have heard some of the marks round whitburn will produce wrasse, i want to try the blocks on the pier for a few pollock but will robs need a drop net for that

                      Possibly +1 for the float. Always something ive been wanting to try. Good for makerel off north shields fish quay(sp) when theyre in apparently!!!

                      Love to give it a go sometime !
