  • Open matches..current and past.

Would appreciate some information on open matches...particularly those that no longer take place.

I'm not a shore angler so have no knowledge of those that no longer take place.

I know the Northumberland open and blyth open.

    Are there any more.?
    How many attend?
    When did they start?
    Have the numbers fallen?
    What time of year?

As for opens that have stopped...basically the same info is needed.

When, where, numbers, and if known a reason for them no longer taking place.

As much detail as possible please...particularly if you were an organiser of some open that is no more.

PM's would be nice so I can print off the detail.

    Cheers
    Dave

There used to be an open on the Tyne good while back, think it was run by Friars Goose water sports club.It was held on Boxing day think the boundaries were up to the tyne bridge from hebburn. As i remember there used to be a good turnout for it.Used to go down and see what was getting caught, remember a lad winning it with a huge bag of flatties and a nice codling,i think.he caught them at an area near the schooner pub just at back of gateshead stadium.Sure he was a jarrow or hebburn lad.
