  • Mull report.

HA, I wish. thats one I caught three years ago, 7lb 7 0z.
Myself, AndyN and Steve (Pollacks) got there about 10 15 thurs, just in time for a pint. Aftre dropping the bags off headed for the Crown, Met Ian and had six.
Friday, weather was perfect, fished east tarbet in sunny weather, few clouds, and a calm sea. Sless and Bert arrived . Mackerel were plentiful, and we barbied some, out of the water, and on the BBq, lovely. Pollack to about two pound, coalies. A huge shoal of big mullet swam by, Id estimate most over 6 pound. fantastic sight.
Headed off around 4 30, I passedx a gate, and I thought I saw a Deer and Fawn in a field, stopped the car to try and get a pic. Climbed up the grass verge, But It was a deer, and a hare, which had scuttled. Turned to go down the grass verge, and caught my feet in a bramble. Headed face first toward a gravel road, with my camera in my hand, managed to roll abit and saved the camera, and escape what I thought was going to be serious gravel rash.
Got ready for the night, when Bert cracked a bottle of Drambuie.
Great Night in the crown, With entertainment by Roxanne (so bad, shes good)
Back to the digs, for more Drambuie, and a jig about the carpark :{.
    ooooooooooohhh.
Neede fresh air on Sat, and we got it.
Foul weather, and heavy rain totally spoiled the day. It was basically dangerous. Wet rocks dont make for happy fishing. Unbelievably that was identical weather to last year, on both days. Nice to See Tack4, who came down from Stranraer, Big guy.
Ian slipped on the rocks, and was lucky not to break his arm. AndyN was lucky too.
We called it a day about 2 30, got back to the car to find Id left the sunroof open. inside was soaked, outside, covered in cowsnot.
Ians line was round our feet at the car, and he discovered it had caught on the gate, about 150 Yards away!! and had to walk back rewinding his reel.
Saturday night was anothe evening of jollity.
To describe the fishing, Ill just say AndyN Never had a bite all day, and Steve (Pollacks) won the comp with a Pollack of about a pound.
One downside. the UNBELIVABLE amount of rubbish left in the bay on West Tarbet by Anglers Camping there.
Raised a bit of Money too, I will send a cheque to Duncan for his chosen charity. Was told Duncan was responding to Radium Treatment. I wish him the best of luck.

    Heres some Pics.

Good report, shame about the weather but it's always a nice place to be whatever the weather. I agree about the rubbish left at West Tarbet, it's a total disgrace and spoils an otherwise beautiful area. When me and Phil camped there we made sure we took all our rubbish away with us, I almost popped a tyre running over a glass bottle left by someone!

fishing was pants gear still wet today

hope to catch yas again some time

liked the number plates paul n sless v. good

4 hours fishing in steadily worsening conditions for a wrasse of just under a pound but hey great to me you guys but a lightweight when drinking is involved so best plan was a pass
its the taking part that counts

Nice one Paul, good to see the night out was as good as usual. Such a pity about the weather turning though, I am so pleased I didn't go, I would not have dared to venture onto those rocks They are so dangerous when they are wet.

                Jim.
