I had my SK3 two months and the tip section snapped, took it to Sonik in Blyth Customer Services, they said ooh looks like a crush injury to me!, replaced it but cost me £30!!! So much for the warranty
Chinese mass produced to keep the price down , most are made over there now but that's the way of the world , cheaper and crapper haha , but ya might get a decent one . You still have to look after them , I see so many laid down , dropped on the pier wall and hoyed on rails with nee rest ... Treat them well and you'll get the best out if them
Couldn't agree more there mate! Seem some rods thrown about and people wonder why rings etc go pop!

some people do abuse there gear a lot bash grey`s rods but my mate got a nitra it must be donkey years old and its still going strong, and its had some serious stick
Think there are more century's etc about than soniks mate but only hear the odd story of them snapping etc...
I would disagree on that over the price difference, there'll be alot more Sonik rods about with it being more affordable to the wider audience, just my opinion mind.
My sons SKS after 2 years the rubber plug thing on the male spigot has broken and moved up the tube a bit, I've glued it but I think it won't long before that comes away the rod either breaks or need a new tip section.
I also know Davey (Blanked Again) on here had a SK3 that snapped, talking about Davey has anyone seen or heard from him lately.?

I know they are a lot cheaper mate but barely see them use by the regular lads compared to the likes of century and zippys etc. maybe more kids etc have them though as like you said seem to drop into that type of 'Christmas present' type of bracket

hi m8 went to arbroath in sluice comp hooked into a 9lb cod ,tryed to lift it 4 ft, and my rod snapped in three places , but in fairness i went to the factory in blyth and he cut me a good deal, but im thinking of only using it on the sandy beaches only. i had the rod 4 months only m8
The customer service is the best thing bout sonik.
They must know how **** they are otherwise they would pass the buck onto the customer just like every other company out there! They didn't even bother asking what happened. The lad dissapeared & came back with a new one, but I won't risk going boat fishing without another spare rod incase it snapped. Which my money is saying it will!,
I just don't trust them anymore.
Iv had two sk3 from the same shop 1st one split at the spigot 2nd snapped at the spigot so off it went & sold for a £70 loss!!!
Boat rod snapped on 1st outing so also gonna make a loss & get shot of a crap rod that I can't trust will stay in one piece & it's only 4 days old!!!!
I'm staying well clear of sonik rods from now on
Would rather whip some eyes on a bamboo stick from the garden
Cant fault mine had it since they first came on the market its the 14ft 6-8oz, lifted an 8lb cod up the 3 shelves no problem, and still using it today.

Defo a few out there Davy where the carbon appears canny and if you get one they seem to be decent for the cash but they are not as common as the bad ones!

Spoke to a well known fishing shop (local) today for advice on
50lb class rods with a £150 budget.
He said don't waste that sort of money spend £50 on a sonik 30lb class one of the best rods around & he's had one himself for well over a year,
So must definately be inconsistency in the build

Or he is pushing to sell his poorly made soniks, why people try and defend them is beyond me, there rod might not of snapped but it will at some point.
