  • Species hunt help..........

    Hello all, im doing a species hunt with a club from leeds and i would appreciate any advice on where i can get some sea species im not bothered about size just as many different types of fish as poss, i live in cramlington and can travel anywhere within reason also im a fluff chucker so any tips on tackle and bait would be tremendous, thanks.

      alright billy , following the advice from the lads on the nesa forum (cheers lads) my first trips were down the tyne and with ragworm i caught codling coalfish whiting and flatty's all along the newcastle quayside 2hrs up to and over high tide . hope this helps you out, and good luck to you

        If size doesn't matter, daft as it may sound (if it's allowed in the hunt) try the rockpools at lowtide down Seaton Sluice or between w/bay and tynemouth with some tiny hooks! Should be plenty of little blennies, gobies, butterfish, grannyfish etc.

          take a cloth with you to handle any suspicous looking fish.

              I heard the french eat peeler crabs too

              danes eat weavers aswell, BBQ grill them with the skin still on. never tried it myself, and never caught one
