    Anyone know any shops local that sell whipping threads and other rod building bits and bobs?

    as far as i know most shops sell it mate. i'd put money on billys in shields selling it

      aye any tackle shop normally has rings, thread, clear-coat/dope etc.

      Most online places seem to stock the stuff also, eg:
      Rings - FUJI - FUJI Luminous Shock Ring Guides
      Threads - SEYMO DIY - Seymo DIY Whipping Treads
