i bought a new rod recently and the site it came from was offering to combo it with a penn roddy for an extra 25 quid ,im sure you all have seen the adverts in the mags , having never had a multiplier before i thought it was a cheap way of trying one out , my problem is the leaflet that comes with it says before fishing you should adjust the cast control by tightening the cast control knob t up clockwise fitting it to the rod and attaching the weight to be used letting 8" of line out then backing the cast control knob off anticlockwise till the weight starts to drop . done that nowt happens attached are pics of the knob screwed on and fully off still nowt happens ,any ideas ???? , i realize this is a cr*p reel now and have already promised myself no more "cheap bargins" cheers davey

Never used one of these Penn reels before but if you've got the reel in free spool and the end caps are loosened or as you've done, taken them right off, then there may be a problem with the reel as it should be giving you line. Best off let some one who's used a multi before have a little go with it, might just be something simple that you just might not be aware of nt having used a multi before. If they identify a problem get it back to the shop you got it from.Last edited by MickA; 11-06-2008, 07:04 PM.

Daft question, but you are pushing the release forward aren't you? Big grey plastic plate below where your thumb goes to control the spool? Just push it up and forward to release the spool into free run...
Got a Penn Roddy myself, they're nowt much but canny enough for the harbours if you're not wanting a long cast.

I was about to say that, I bought one. gave it away. It tended to engage during the cast.
My opinion,? Utter waste of money. I think I paid £12 and felt robbed.Maker and inventor of CANNYLINKS, the best rotten bottom system bar none. IMHO!

Get your self an abu 6500 ct. easy to use and learn to cast with, just look out for the bargains on the net, or get a sec. hand.
