  • What's the Best Headlamp

I'm looking to buy a new headlamp and unsure what to get. People have mentioned Cree, lenser and I have used petzel in the past. Any advice appreciated.

For the money. The Cree can't be beat. I've had mine for about a year now. And it's still working.
    All the gear, no idea.

I have the led lenser H7R a good light and beam with good settings one of the best lamps I have had. I do not do a lot of night fishing but the times I have been out after dark its done the job

Another vote for the cree lamps. I paid 14 quid. It came the next day, reliable, super bright and economical.

I've had a couple of the cree headlamps for nearly three years now. The charging circuit inside them is not the best so it pays to buy a separate charger for the batteries and put a UK plug on, only a couple of quid extra for the charger.

The best is the petzl ultra.
A lot of money, but they are the best headlight on the market.

Got a petzl ultra pure pwr,now in the cupboard due to a 2000lmn cree, less than a tenner off ebay, great burn time, melt your eyeballs out, silly bright, can't fault them, you can pick them up for around £7.00/8.00 at the min.
Bust my lense on that in my seat box,so just replaced it with this animal,5000lmns just stupidly bright, don't know about the burn time,as I havn't really used it yet.

Hope you like the pic, sure is the daddy
Ps,the chargers r useless/dangerous when using high powered batts, get on the nitecore intelligent chargers, the way fwd for sure...

I've had an 1800 cree for a couple of years now and is the dogs, bought a 5200 cree last year and its perfect for the cliffs and rocks brilliant light spread and range, but I still always take my Lenser Hr7 as back up.

What's the battery life like on the 1800 cree s, was going to buy some new recharges batteries for my lenser, but just looked and the 1800 cree s are cheaper than a decent set of batteries. Might get one and use my lenser as a spare, also any particular brand?
