    its amazing what can be made from old junk in the shed.
    just made a brill rod holder out of all kinds of things.
    1 metal tripod from a desk top telescope(top)
    2 metal fittings from an old ikea bed.(Front-legs)
    1 prunning pole (back-leg)
    plastic from office chair (rod-butt holder)
    nuts and bolts, glue, insulating foam, lecky strips....

    (iam playing around with photoshop and not getting very far!)
    will post pic of result in gallery....

        Nowts a bother, made a stonking job on that mind, makes my bits of tatty timber effort look even more shamefull!

          I was thinking about buying one, but they cost over 30pund and just as much to send by mail. when i was clearing out the shed i got a sudden brain-storm and after 2 hrs it was finished its light, fully adjustable and folds neatly together.

            my spare rod rest is a camera tripod

            my main stand is 3 bits of pipe and a bit of tin plate bent to make a joint or them , S.S. sugar bowl welded on for butt rest and a bit of wire welded on top to cup rod ( will paint it one day )
