I find the best way is to keep the tank on an angle so you have a few inches one end and the other end they can come out of water if they want to. Also have some kelp in the tank for thm to hide under. Mine seem to peel V quickly this way. Checked mine Saturday night, took out all the ones which were cracking and left the hard ones in. Checked them agan last night (didn't have time in morning) and 3 had fully came out of shells.Put back what you don't need.

river crab need river water to keep ,sea crab need sea water ,but for fetching them on i guess the damp cloth method seems to work the best and obviously they need a drink now and then to take in the water to allow popping stages to occur ,but ya will allways find some wont make it if they are too hard and snotty and not readyLast edited by codseeker; 17-05-2008, 11:28 PM.Panel Pin Champ

hi i to put my tank on a slant in the dark so they can go in out the water as they lyk as for speeding them up i take the top half ov the nippers off wich makes them defencless so they hurry to harden again weather this realy works or not i dont no but never done mine any harm.
