We\'ve a caravan at Reighton. I never seem to do much there, mebbes cos I got the club more than fish, but I\'ve seen some 4-5lb bass carcass lying there after they\'ve been filleted. There\'s plenty of flatties and schoolies this time of year. The beach is very flat but there\'s a few gullies that are obvious at low water. Most people seem to fish to the left of the road down from the holiday park. Be careful becuase on a big tide some of the little headlands jutting out can cut you off. There are some strong currents too, my fishing mate was swept of his feet there last year. Worms and fish baits do well at this time of year. I\'ve never used fresh peeler here and I\'ve never had any joy using those frozen velvet swimmers. In winter, it\'s thick with whiting there.
The brigg fishes best on neap tides and spring tides. It can be a dangerous place, some big swells can come up form the deep water on the sea side. There\'s cod and pollack this time of year and mackerel can be had on feathers. There\'s various ladders to get down and you can walk along the beach at low water, you will get cut off over high water if you chose this route. The Brigg can be fished over high water if it\'s not too rough and you can climb up the end of the cliff with moderate difficulty ( don\'t attempt this if it\'s been raining).
Personally, I\'d fish Filey Brigg, or some of the rocky bays towards Scarboro or north of there on the way to Whitby. There is of course Bempton Cliffs which may or may not be open to fish this time of year. They are very very dangerous though.

Never tried Reighton (its on my list!) :P but hear about quite a few bass from there.
The Brigg has been fishing well recently so worth a try, would echo Chippy on safety tho\' its really easy to be caught out by big swells even when it looks pretty calm Access can be tricky when its wet as well.
Bait wise crab is best by all accounts but Iv\'e done ok on worms and fish so take you\'re pick!).
Its well worth exploring some of the quieter bays and cliffs in the area if you have the time.
When you planning a trip down? and I may be able to meet up with you!
Ooops just remembered! Bempton is pretty awkward this time of year with all the nesting birds, not sure of the exact rules but think it may even be out of bounds around the RSPB reserve?
Best Wishes

Not sure mate, I live in Bradford. I would say A1 then A64 to Scarborough. You want the Scarborough - Bridlington road. Go past Filey and you\'ll come to the village of Reighton. Immediately before the village, there\'s a static caravan sales centre and sign for a Haven Holiday park. Turn left (v sharp corner) go down there right to the end. There\'s space to park your car. Use proper footpaths down the the cliff. It\'s a mud cliff/hill and always collapsing.

The coast road through Guisborough, Whitby and Scarborough will be a shorter route.
Both Reighton and Hunmanby beaches are part of Filey beach, both are as good as each other for bass, flatties and whiting.
Filey brigg has been fishing well for both cod and pollack taken on fresh crab, to get on the brigg there are two ways, the top where you walk on the top of the cliff and go down the northern side to the ladder which takes you to the bottom of the cliff, there is only one ladder as the other has gone for repair be carful as it gets dangerous when it has rained as the cliff is quite loose.
The other way is along the bottom from Filey beach a path opens up as the tide goes down, when the headland stops there is a hut for the coast guard go left here and the first mark is known as gully wash go past that and round the back of brigg towards the ladder there are plenty of places to fish into deep water, straight on from hut there is a raised section this is high brigg, then sewer pipe end, the very end is crab hole which fishes best on a easterly winds.
The brigg is an extremely dangerous place be careful and watchful at all times.
