To learn my marks. It might sound odd to people who’ve been fishing the same marks for years but, to me, mark knowledge is a new thing. When I started, I was fishing different marks every time I went out, and sometimes fishing two or three marks the same day. It has got me to lots of different places, but I think I was only catching when I got lucky.Originally posted by regpude View Post
I still like to try different places, but I’ve learned that it’s better to stick with a few marks and fish them as often as possible to learn what fish are around, what rigs, hooks and bait to use and when to fish them (depending on the tide and the swell). I’ve found it’s easier to have a successful session when you’ve got plenty of knowledge of the mark you’re fishing!
