Got to the 40 mark today at 14:30 to fish the tide up. Hoping for a Plaice so opened up with a pulley dropper, size 1 Aberdeen, plenty of bling and rag tipped off with crab. I though the crab might be a plan given the lack of water clarity.
First chuck a decent flounder, then a tommy codling and plenty of knocks. But as the tide came up it just seemed to get worse and worse and everyone's bites seemed to be drying up. I couldn't even get a bite on the float or LRF gear which has never happened to me along there in the past.
Only lads I saw catching odd fish as I went on, and again when I came off were on the post chucking into the harbor, which I am led to believe is very rough ground ? Did I get that right ?
Bit of a surprise today because I thought the big tide might make it fish better than it did. Still a nice day to be out and you always learn something.
