If I bought fresh peeler crab now, and put them in the freezer, would they keep till next winter?

Yes but remove the lungs first and try to vacuum pack them or keep as air tight as possible

Also, give them a wash under the tap and dry them before wrapping.
Any muck will make them go off....

i generally remove the lungs, wrap them individually in clingfilm to stop them getting frost burnt during the freezing process and freeze them on a metal roasting tray. so they freeze a little bit quicker, putting them into my plastic box for frozen bait later..

                  peeler

Andy mate keep some of the crab in the freezer separate, for fishing in competition, and some smaller crab separate for normal use , but sometimes it is better to try and get fresh crab during winter just to try and get a edge

Sorry to hijack his post a little, if he was to buy frozen now, where would you recommend getting them from,

I used to just buy live crab from billys when he used to have it in, whether I was going fishing or not and freeze them anyway, but that was when I worked in North Shields, work 9-5 in Blyth atm, so struggle getting crab atm, and having been thinking about just ordering frozen online, I'm I tight git, so the £7 delivery charges put me right off lol

Most tackle shops will sell frozen aswell as fresh so that's probably your best bet
