    .

Ive only used braid once on a fs mate and ive always used a shock leader. Dunno if everyone else does or not like.

depends how your using it really
if your belting it out then yes a leader is a must made from braid or mono, also if your fishing over heavy ground a rubbing leader helps protect your main line.
but if your just lobbing baits for flats etc then you can fish braid straight through

Yep, I use 66lb power pro on a couple of my reels and still have an 80lb mono leader

General rule of thumb is twice the length of the rod and half a dozen turns on the reel. Oh and 60lb will be fine. I attach mine with a Bimini in the braid and then a Slim Beauty to attach the Bimini to the leader

Well try a 70lb braid shocker, attach it with a biminey twist, even 70lb braid is thin so it'll cast great

Dwn my way the lads that use braid tend to use 30lb braid with a braided shockleader of around 70lb/80lb,some use a mono leader, they say it act's like a shock absorber when playing fishSome lads swear by 60lb/70lb braid straight thru, but tbh braid with braided leader seem's to be the most pop, they reckon mono leader with braid causes tangle issuesJust a bit of food for thought buddy, personally I'm a mono man

Agree with Stewart. Defo need a mono leader. It absorbs the rubbing over the rocks much much better than using braid straight through.

The mono leader caused me alot of trouble with wind knots first one lost about 20yds second one got a not about 80yds into the cast, took me 2 hrs at home to unpick it,I use 65lb whiplash with 90lb .50 spectra leader not a bit of bother, with 200grm leads, but find on clean ground using 150 grm I don't use a leader and it seems to get better distance.

When you've used mono the go to braid leader the rod loads up instantly due to no stretch.
