  • I believe ?????

just thought I would mention it, I was told today that two nights ago there was a 7lb cod caught at peeping-toms, by a Davey Maddison, if it\'s right that should mean the rock edges might fish in the evening, if you don\'t know it as peeping-toms it\'s the line of rocks in the river side of Blyth Pier. :P :P :P that\'s a good fish from the shore this time of year.

Strange this time of year,i often give it a go in the winter and normally pull a few out, normally fishes on a South Easterly or Easterly blow, you can also target the rocks by casting from the west pier,if you are there at high tide the rocks are from the little short pier and the red navagation light. It can be a bit dangerous on the rocks when theres a big sea running like the other night so be careful if you are new to the area or to fishing and the rocks get a bit slippy as well, the storm the other night was hopfully a one off for this summer so it should be fairly save to fish it from now on,please bare in mind that you can\'t fish from short pier/jetty above the line of rocks, the security guard will move you on.

Have had one or two fish from there during the winter but never seem to get round to it during the summer. I suppose it\"s cos we don\"t get as many massive sea\"s then. Might be worth trying it Alan.

hi guys if the lad was fishing peeping-toms he would be casting into the river, just trying to think where the tide would have been doing. I have fished from the stone jetty before, did,nt get shifted, lately there has been one or two lads fishing it, probably depends on the mood of who is in the tower and who is driving the van for Reay Security. if you have a chuck at the rocks from Blyth Pier look for a cross on the lower beam it\'s about halfway down the pier, good spot in the winter.

Heather you might be right about the security,i have seen a couple of peeps fishing there and i never noticed them get moved on,but as a rule you probably will.
Aye your right about X marks the spot on the pier, its a canny shot for the odd Lobster as well, usually from August onwards for the better ones.
Jim i\'ve never had much luck off the rocks during the summer,it might fish in the dark though,i had a canny session last summer off there early one morning,i was messing with my spinners and floats and had a good few Mackerel and a couple of decent Coalies.

Think they might have been Jimmy\'s,(you know who i mean) he\'s got a few pots at peeping toms as well.
Thats worth baring in mind as well, theres a couple of pots close in near the rocks so be careful when casting.

He\'s a canny bloke actually,he had some nice fish off the pier during the winter.Think he used to work on the boats a while back but it looks like he must be on the \"king coal\" as he is always down the river, think he makes a few quid off his pots, good luck to him i say.
