  • velvet swimmers

    anybody got any tips on bringing on velvet swimmers as i got a few today,had 3 a couple of weeks ago and even with the air pump going they pegged it after 1 day.

    Gogs, at a guess maybe they need a surge system as employed in some artificial reef systems. Many species will go down quickly even in clean and well aerated water if the movements not there. As far as I know they cost a bomb and if you\'ve got one there are much better uses to put them to. Also have you provided them with flowery swimming hats, a slow lane, changing rooms and a Bovril machine. Hope this helps.

      Hi gogs, ive had velvets in a tank for up to 2 weeks bringing them on, clean water and plenty air, never had any casualties yet.

        trying the later ell and it seems to be working

          Bloody good bait the velvets, they are few and far between thought, when I put a velvet peeler on I expect to catch a fish
