Thanks Mog. Must remember to take it with me after I get thrown out the pub. Might get spotted quicker in the gutter. Seriously though. Never considered the safety side. It's the first one i've seen with them fitted.

One of the lads fly fishing yesterday at Allensford was playing hell about all this cheap gear. Said some lads had bought cheap gear and were fishing with worm for the trout in the river. No licences etc.
Personal best, 12.5lb Tope Scotland. 22/05/2012.

quite right darren, but on the other hand if kids can get gear cheap and get started then they'll progress upto the better gear (that you can't get in a supermarket), plus they'll always need hooks, sinkers, bait, lines etc etc so they'll become regulars in the tackle shop.

you can get a kiddys set up from my local tackle shop for 4.99 just like the supermarkets. Takle shops dont make nothing on bait its rods reels and tirminal tackle where thay make the money its just a same supermarkets have decided to sell this gear.just my opion lads.in a few of theses shops thay have started selling the hooks and line and sinkers and if poeple only go to takle shops just for bait ya can say by by to them

They probably weren't bought by anglers, more likley folks out to make a quick quid. Fleabay will be flooded with them by now.
              Cheers, Keith.
